Youth Ministry
Daramalan College is a participant in Catholic Schools Youth Ministry Australia (CYSMA). The focus of CSYMA is evangelisation through peer-to-peer ministry. As part of the College’s commitment to Youth Ministry, Daramalan Graduate, Bart Bunk joined the College in 2021 as a Youth Minister.
Bart comes into the College one day a week, on Fridays, to work with staff and students. He facilitates sessions on faith and formation topics during class visits, composes Friday morning prayers, works with Youth Ministry Team, runs a fortnightly youth group at lunch time and facilitates the Year 9 Catch the Wave retreat. Additionally, he works with the AP Mission to prepare the Year 10 Youth Ministers to deliver the Year 7 Retreat Days.
There are lots of opportunities for students in Years 10-12 to be involved in Youth Ministry at Daramalan College. First, through electing to be a part of the Year 10 Youth Ministry class, this is an elective within Year 10 Religious Education. Secondly, students can volunteer their time to be a part of the Youth Ministry Team. This group assists Bart in planning and facilitating Youth Group gatherings, as well as components of liturgical celebrations.
