Vocational Education and Training (VET) BSSS Courses & Australian School Based Apprenticeships (ASbA)

Students can undertake a nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification while completing their Senior Secondary Certificate. There are a number of BSSS courses/qualifications that Daramalan College have scope to deliver and can certify under the auspice of our Registered Training Organisation 7117..

Certificate I in Workplace Skills (BSB10120) Year’s 9 & 10 Business computing

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have not yet entered the workforce, and are developing the necessary skills in preparation for work. They may undertake a variety of simple tasks under close supervision.

This qualification provides a range of introductory skills and knowledge to provide individuals with an understanding of the business environment.

Certificate II in Workplace Skills (BSB20120) Year 11 Business skills & practical applications

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of entry-level Business Services job roles.  This qualification also reflects the role of individuals who have not yet entered the workforce, and are developing the necessary skills in preparation for work.

These individuals carry out a range of basic procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require self-management and technology skills. They perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.

Certificate III in Business (BSB30120) Year 12 Business skills & practical applications

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. It is likely that these individuals are establishing their own work performance.

Individuals in these roles carry out a range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require technology and business skills. They apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.

Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation (AUR10120) Year 12 Automotive

This qualification is an introductory qualification to the automotive retail, service and repair industries and an entry to further training in several sectors. It is designed for application in a highly supervised context, such as VET in Schools (VETiS) or other equivalent introduction or induction to industry environments. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited.

Certificate I in Furnishing (MSF10122) Year 11 & 12 Furniture

Learners with this qualification have knowledge and skills that prepare them for further learning, community involvement, and entry-level work in the furnishing industry. They have basic technical and communication skills, undertake routine activities, and identify and report simple issues and problems.

Certificate I in Metal Engineering (MEM10119) Year 11 & 12 Metal engineering

This qualification defines entry-level skills and knowledge to assist workers entering employment as engineering/manufacturing employees within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.

Certificate I& II in Hospitality (SIT20322) Year 11 & 12 Hospitality

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

Certificate II in Cookery (SIT20421) Year 11 & 12 Hospitality

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in kitchens who use a defined and limited range of food preparation and cookery skills to prepare food and menu items.

They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. This qualification does not meet the requirements for trade recognition as a cook, but can provide a pathway towards achieving that.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in kitchen operations in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops; and institutions such as aged care facilities, hospitals, prisons, and schools.
